- Republic- A form of government in which power
rest with citizens who have the right to vote for their leaders.
- Patrician- Wealthy landowners
who hold most of the power.
- Plebeians- Common farmers,
artisans, and merchants who made up the majority of the population.
- Tribunes- Elect
representatives.
- Consul-
Commanded the army and directed the government for one year.
- Senate- The
aristocratic branch of Rome's government.
- Dictator-
Leader who had absolute power to make laws and command an army.
- Legion- The
soldiers of Rome.
- Punic Wars-
The wars fought between Rome and Carthage.
- Hannibal- A
fearsome military leader of Carthage.

- One year
- After being elected you would not be elected for another 10 years.

- They were laws the government
passed to keep things fair and not chaoitic
